LTE Vs NR[EN-DC] Coverage and throughput observation with 8x8 ,32x32 & 64x64 Scenario

Hello readers there are multiple questions about 5G/NR future in india as trials are only carried out by all major 3 operators  with help of Major 3 OEMs  Ericsson , Nokia & Samsung with restriction of 30 eNB per scenario[Urban , Rural , Semi Urban] in a PLMN

Below is some basics of measurement difference

Jio is doing trails with indegenious system so they have adavantage of doing trials on 300 eNB per scenario in PLMN as per letter of Ministry of communication and they are doing trials .

So one question is genuine that which 5G/NR options will be adopted by all 3 operators of india and answer is very simple and its Option3x .

As still out of 3 , 2 operators are not willing to loose 2G customer and hence  there is no way of thinking of loosing 4G customer by deploying Option2 is  5G/NR SA  with additional massive investment .

I will not go into details  but overview is that Option3x is future of 5G/NR in india

Option3x has advantage that with same Core, operators will be able to give 5G/NR services by deploying EN-DC

EN-DC has major advantage that with EN-DC 5G/NR matches 4G footprint . As in 3.5GHz high losses are there so definately it will not match 4G footprint in current running 4G bands , so technolgy is to use 4G Spectrum  for UL and 5G Spectrum for DL .

EN-DC in india can be deployed with LTE- B1 , B3 , B5, B8  and NR-N78.

As per global deployement scenario EN-DC deployement with B3 & N78 gives better result

I want to share you some  result of different MIMO and its coverage footprint w.r.t LTE [ B1/B3] in EN-DC Scenario with N78 as NR

RSRP4G vs RSRP5G in same clutter with Different MIMO

Readers above image shows how RSRP of NR and RSRP of LTE varies along with that you can identify which type of MIMO you should deploy in your network in Indian Scenario . Let me tell you above plot is not prediction its actual deployement scenario of one of operator in urban scennario .

You can identify coverage pattern for diffent MIMO and how its behaving w.r.t LTE coverage.

some of you wandring that how 64x64 not giving better result although it will have throughput advantage , my answer is definately you will have throughput advantage but how much advantage with how much cost and its very improtant

RSRP5G vs 5G Throughput[Mbps] in same clutter with different MIMO

Above snap will end all speculation of lab testing theories and actual scenario , Gyus i will reco. to go with 8x8 or 32x32 istead of 64x64 in indian market scenario .
